“Future generations will never forgive us if we miss the opportunity to protect our common home. We have inherited a garden; we must not leave a desert for our children.”

Joint statement from Pope Francis, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Archbishop Justin Welby of Canterbury.

The Season of Creation is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together. During the Season of Creation, we join our sisters and brothers in the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home.

“Contemplation of creation allows us to discover in each thing, a teaching which God wishes to hand on to us, since ‘for the believer, to contemplate creation, is to hear a message, to listen to a paradoxical and silent voice’” (LS 85).
