Dear Meditators                                                                                                                               14/06/22

For the next week or so, we’ll look at the messages the Psalms have for us, to reflect on. Today we’ll acknowledge the Lord is our Shepherd, in Psm 23.

The aim of our session today is to create a sacred space for God’s Presence…and to maintain our intention towards that Presence, through breath, image or word (if distracted), and ultimately through silence… experience a response from God’s Presence at an individual heart felt level. This is the heart of Centering Prayer.

  • The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want; / I lie down in green pastures. / God leads me besides restful waters, / restoring my soul.
  • I walk the way of truth / for the sake of God’s name. / Even though I walk through / the valley of the shadow of death, / I fear no evil, / for you are with me; / your rod and staff give me comfort.
  • You set a table before me / in the presence of my enemies; / you anoint my head with oil, / and my cup overflows. / Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me / all my life long; / and I shall dwell in the Lord’s house / forever.

Relax now in body and mind, slow your breathing, and enter your meditation, centering your prayer, your will and intention on acknowledging the Lord as your Shepherd… giving your life to His safekeeping…trusting in His care…thanking Him for the many gifts you have been given… knowing that you dwell in the Lord’s house forever.

 Love and every blessing, Kathryn
