Please note: This session is on TUESDAY 16th May in the Library.
In this session John will outline the often turbulent history of The Tablet and profile some of its editors while recognising its ability to combine deep affection and attachment to the Church  while maintaining demonstrable independence. Â
“The Tablet is a Catholic weekly journal that has been published continually since 1840. It reports on religion current affairs, politics, social issues, literature and the arts with a special emphasis on Roman Catholicism while remaining ecumenical. It is committed to the teaching of the Second Vatican Council.” https://www.thetablet.co.uk/about
About the facilitator: John Tidey is a Melbourne journalist and author who has worked in East Africa, the UK and China. He is a parishioner at OLMC Middle Park and has been a TABLET reader for 60 years.
