Meditation for Thursday 5 February 2026
Solitude is difficult for many who are rushed off their feet nevertheless from experience most of us appreciate that it is like coming up for air as we drown in the busyness of day-to-day activity.
It can be said that solitude is the teacher, and silence is the teaching.
Solitude provides an environment for exploring one’s inner life.
It’s like a warm greenhouse in which relationship grows and eventually flowers.
Solitude becomes a vehicle of my contemplative awareness.
Solitude is a sacred disposition consecrated by our intention to explore the inner workings of our heart.
Solitude makes its home in our heart but also in every nook and cranny of our home, our life.
Solitude of some sort is essential to those who dedicate their lives seeking a rich inner life or seeking God.
There is no way that leads more certainly to contemplation, to awareness, to mindfulness, to meditation
When we meditate in solitude we wait in silence. What we are waiting for is determined by our intention.
Solitude is the ultimate in self-care so we in turn can care for others.
Solitude is empowering. When we embrace it, when we choose it, we focus on connecting with ourselves so we can connect with others.
