Meditation for Thursday 18 December 2025

(Last meditation reflection for this year. We resume on Thursday 29 January 2026)

An acquaintance of mine has recently become involved in an organisation that hosts the Ibero-American Congress on Burnout Prevention. Intrigued I’ve discovered that their concern is to help in re-shaping how we think about human well-being, spiritual tourism, and the global response to burnout: they have a clear mission, to promote a culture that champions…

  • Slow, experiential, and meaningful travel.
  • Ecological and mindful mobility.
  • Silence, reflection and inner clarity.
  • Reconnection with the human rhythm.

When on a journey they encourage…

  • Slow steps.
  • Contemplative silence.
  • Distance from urgency.
  • Reconnection with self.

The Congress acknowledges that people are not only productivity; they are meaning, purpose, and inner life. They uphold that the world urgently needs this wisdom; true rest is not the absence of work, it is the presence of one’s own life.

These objectives are very much aligned with the aims of meditation.

The birth at Christmas represents all of the above, and more!
