Welcome to Creative Spirituality!

As we’re created in our Heavenly Father’s image and He is the great Creator who delights in His own Creation, so we too delight Him when we respond creatively in our faith. There are many ways to respond creatively and one way is to perform and appreciate poetry. Poetry is an artistic mode that can reflect emotion, sensitivity, the imagination and spirituality. It helps shape the human being to be all we were created to be in body, soul, mind, and spirit.

As each of us is a special creation of His, we all have our own unique creative expression. In this presentation, I will read aloud and comment on a few of my favourite poems that combine being human with creative spirituality. I invite you to share your favourite poem with the group. You may like to read it aloud and/or share some personal reflections.

We read poetry aloud so that we can experience a variety of life situations and deeply felt emotions, original ideas, imaginings and reflections about things, through the poetic spoken form. As we understand who we are, we can appreciate our spiritual selves more fully encompassed within the arms of a loving Heavenly Father.
