The Saturday Retreat will be a reflective day led by Jan Morgan & Graeme Garrett
This retreat day will provide time out to open our hearts to both grief and praise before God, centring on the beauty and fragility of the Earth’s oceans.
The day will include:
- times of silence
- short reflective segments
- optional meditative practice by the sea (weather permitting)
- exploration of the art of grieving as a form of praise
‘Grief is a form of generosity which praises life …’ (Martín Prectel)
‘Ah! How I want life itself, without which everything dies!’ (Paul Claudel)
Jan Morgan is a pastoral care worker and educator. Graeme Garrett is an Anglican priest and theologian. They have developed a spiritual practice of attending to the ‘visible voice’ of the natural world. This has led to collaborative writing and speaking about ecological challenges that face Australia today, particularly with respect to the oceans. Their new book is entitled, On the Edge: A-Way with the Ocean.
