The Carmelite Way Pilgrimage, Friday 9 November to Sunday 11 November 2018

Join us on our ninth annual pilgrimage along the beautiful Lilydale Warburton Rail Trail culminating at the Sancta Sophia Meditation Centre. We rank our own pilgrimage alongside the great Christian pilgrimage destinations of Jerusalem, Rome, Santiago de Compostela and Canterbury Cathedral in England! Pilgrims have commented that this pilgrimage is about:

  • Being inspired by the scenery, grandeur and environment of a particular place,
  • Responding to the need for silence in a world that is often consumed by noise,
  • Taking time out to simply reflect and give thanks for what life gives us.

To go on our pilgrimage is to live the Carmelite Way; it is to share in the experience of community, service and prayer and return renewed in heart and mind. Denis Andrew OCarm describes one of the challenges involved: “Be open to discovering a different perspective on life as you learn along the way what is important to you and shed what is not.”
