DESCRIPTION:The Carmelites of Australia &amp\; Timor-Leste have announced t
 he appointment of Mr Luke Edwards as the new leader of The Carmelite Centr
 e and Br Daryl Moresco as the Carmelite Delegate for the Centre.\nLuke com
 es with a background in education\, spirituality and psychology. He has be
 en responsible for designing creative responses in developing various form
 ation and pastoral care programs in schools\, hospitals and other church e
 ntities.\nDaryl\, recently returned to Australia after 25 years in the US\
 , has worked in education\, formation and spirituality ministries. Most re
 cently he served as Managing Director of the Centre of Carmelite Studies a
 t the Catholic University of America in Washington\, DC.\nA management com
 mittee\, yet to be appointed\, will support Luke and Daryl in their minist
 ry at The Carmelite Centre.\nOur Mission is to bring the essence of the Ca
 rmelite tradition of contemplation\, service and hospitality to the commun
 ity through a range of spirituality based programs and experiences. The Ca
 rmelite tradition honours the individual\, embraces community and welcomes
  people who seek spiritual and personal enrichment.\nOur Purpose is to fac
 ilitate spiritual journeys\, growth and community by encouraging contempla
 tion\, independent and free thinking\, and an attitude of simplicity\, hum
 ility and gratitude.\nThe Carmelite Centre offers a variety of programs in
 cluding Lectio Divina\, Prayer Meditation\, Centering Prayer\, Carmelite C
 onversations\, Eco-Spirituality Reading Group\, Scripture Study Circle as 
 well as opportunities for Spiritual Direction and Pastoral Supervision.\nW
