TUESDAY 2 DECEMBER 2025 we will meet for a walking meditation in the St Vincent Gardens, Albert Park weather permitting! We will gather at the entrance on Ferrars Street under the large Oak tree at 1:00pm. The walk will be followed by a shared ‘ADVENT’ picnic. All welcome. This could be a perfect time to bring and introduce a friend to the group to share the time with us.
Kathryn Pile writes:
The aim of our walk is to deepen our relationship with God through Nature, experience the health and wellbeing aspects of meditation, and the joy of walking in contemplative silence. The Gardens are compact and we will make five stops on our way around. The stops are mostly in places where existing bench seats are placed for those who may like to sit along the way. The walk will take approximately 30 minutes and will be followed by a shared ‘Advent’ picnic in the Gardens.
I will set up our picnic spot with a rug and some chairs beforehand, at 12.45 pm at the  Montague end of the Gardens, the south west end, for those who may like to leave any food (in sealed containers) or belongings there, before we start. There is parking around the gardens, and public transport and facilities along Ferrars and Montague Streets.
Please let me know if you are able to attend, or if you have any questions. In the event of inhospitable weather, for those who have indicated they can come, I will contact you early on the day so that we can meet in the Malone Room at the Carmelite Center as usual, to share our meditation and  picnic.
Love and every blessing, Kathryn Pile, Meditation Leader.
By joining the walk you agree to the Carmelite Centre liability waiver.

Kathryn Pile leads Centering Prayer Meditation on the first Tuesday of the month at 1.00pm in the Malone Room. (First door on the left when entering from 214 Richardson Street, Middle Park.)
The session begins with Kathryn’s reflections on a theme from spiritual writings and scripture followed by silent meditation. It runs for approx 50 minutes and is followed by an invitation to spend time together socially. You may like to bring some biscuits or something to share with our cuppa afterwards.
ABOUT CENTERING PRAYER
Centering Prayer Meditation draws on the Christian tradition of meditation from the heart centre, using themes from spiritual writings and scripture, to help us experience beyond limited intellect, the total mind we call Heart. It’s a surrender method, a practice based on letting go of thoughts as they arise to deepen a way of being in God’s Presence and so deepening relationship with God.
Centering Prayer Meditation is an invitation for all with an open heart who are seeking to bring unity and wholeness into their daily life.
