Many of us know Wendy the art nun, but who was Sr Wendy the hermit?
For fifty years Sr Wendy lived as a hermit in a caravan in the woods on the grounds of a Carmelite Monastery. Suddenly, in the early 1990s she became an international celebrity, the BBC art nun, beaming from TV screens around the world, appearing on chat shows across the UK and the USA.
And then she returned to her caravan.
In this session we will spend time together in Sr Wendy’s zone: silent prayer, stories from her life and reflections on her spirituality, and together we will contemplate some early Christian icons Wendy loved.
About the presenter: Will Day is a Camaldolese oblate and creative arts therapist with a long standing interest in the contemplative traditions of the world.
