Sr. Briege McKenna was born in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, in 1946. “Since being healed of crippling arthritis at age 24, she has developed an international ministry of healing and evangelism that has taken her all over the world, including Europe, the United States and Latin America.”
The central part of her message is based on a vision she had which she describes as “… a beautiful image of Jesus smiling at me. Without saying anything he transmitted to me these words, I’m always present where I’m loved, revered, and welcomed …”
For Sr. Briege, Jesus is not some distant High Being, but is rather a Living Presence who heals and manifests His Presence when sincerely prayed to and believed in, and at the same time who can also be actually seen by those who are able to psychically ‘see’ as Sr. Briege can.
Led by Hugh Morrison, the Spiritual Reading Group will discuss certain passages and pages from her writing.
Each month the Spiritual Reading Group explores a text from a spiritual writer. Each month’s text is available in advance via email attachment or print form collected from the Carmelite Library.
The convenor of the Group is Susan Frykberg. Susan is a composer, sound artist and poet. She also reads widely in Christian mysticism and theology.
The 2020 program of topics and presenter are listed below. Bookings will be open and more details of each month will be available closer to the date.
