ALL WELCOME to Join Kathryn Pile Tuesdays 5pm.
Dear Meditators 31/05/22
Sr Joan Chittister has recently been in our city…an outspoken advocate of justice, peace and equality, she has authored many books…we will dip into one of her latest, ‘Grace-filled Moments’ for this series of meditations, today with reflections on ‘coming home to myself.’
The aim of our session today is to create a sacred space for God’s Presence…and to maintain our intention towards that Presence, through breath, image or word (if distracted), and ultimately through silence… experience a response from God’s Presence at an individual heart felt level. This is the heart of Centering Prayer.
Joan says, the real exercise of life is moving a step at a time til I come to the place that feels like home. Like it’s not about learning something; it’s just about doing it. It’s about doing what needs to be done because I love doing it and the world needs it…a call from within that never really goes away.
- Before I can tell my life what I want to do with it, I must listen to my life telling me who I am. Listen to it: for your sake as well as everybody else’s…God doesn’t need our good works, but our neighbour does.
- When we discover the gifts in ourselves that are meant to be used for the good of others, we have moved out of adolescence into spiritual adulthood. You will know the path you are meant to cultivate for the sake of the rest of your world…it’s the path you love best, by the joy that it brings you.
Relax now in body and mind, slow your breathing, and enter your meditation, centering your prayer, your will and intention on listening to your life telling you who you really are… allowing yourself to open your heart to what you love best…for the sake of the rest of your world.
Love and every blessing, Kathryn
