Recently, Br Daryl was in Vietnam giving a series of talks on Prayer in the Carmelite Tradition to 25 friars in formation during their annual Carmelite Studies Week. This conversation will highlight some of the topics presented such as the Practice of the Presence of God by Br Lawrence of the Resurrection and Aspirative Prayer by John of St Samson and include some pictures and highlights from the Carmelite Studies Week.

Elizabeth, an attendee gave this feedback after the session:

Thank you, Daryl, for today’s Carmelite Conversation, Experience in Vietnam, and Prayer in the Carmelite Tradition: In which you introduced us to Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection, O Carm. and Brother John of St Samson, O Carm. and the depth of their spiritual experience through silence. I have the book The Practice of the Presence of God with Spiritual Maxims by Brother Lawrence.  I will resurrect it. Daryl, your presentation fed the spiritual hole in a heart longing for Carmelite formation since I moved from Melbourne.  I thought I was spiritually dry, today reminded me that is not true. Thank you once again.
