Tuesday Matins Prayer - TUESDAY MORNINGS 7.30am - 8.00am
A time for quiet prayer and reflection to start the day
Tuesday Matins PrayerFollowing the regular Tuesday morning prayer during Lent this will now be continued each week. If you would like to begin your day early with some prayers, psalms and meditation join a small group in the Elijah Chapel each TUESDAY morning from 7.30am – 8.00am.
We are hoping the timeslot will allow for those who need to be at work or elsewhere around 9am. This form of prayer is based on the Liturgy of The Hours (also known as The Divine Office) which has existed from earliest times in the Christian Church.
The main purpose of the Liturgy of The Hours is to remind us at various times during the day of the presence of God and the need for prayer. ‘Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Opening to the presence of God at the start of the day can enhance the way we go about the day and the various interactions we have.It is like opening the door to the God’s presence and allowing the fruits of the Spirit to influence all aspects of our life.
Become a little more contemplative and join us for Tuesday morning prayer.
It is OK to attend all or some of the prayer times.
